    Description

1840 Small Letters Liberty Seated Half Dollar
This auction is for a very nice 1840 Small Letters Liberty Seated half dollar graded MS-62 by NGC and CAC approved.
The coin is from the "Col" EHR Green collection to the Eric P. Newman Sale in November 2013.  From the auction catalog:
    1840 50C Reverse of 1839, Small Letters MS62 NGC. CAC. WB-101.
Ex: "Col." E.H.R. Green. Attractive blue and gold peripheral toning complements lustrous fields. There are a few minor scuffs in the fields that are consistent with the MS62 grade, but are not distracting by any means. This half dollar is strongly struck except on the eagle's left (facing) leg, but this is typically seen on this issue. Most 1840 half dollars are of this major variety. NGC has certified only 13 coins at this level and this is a great opportunity to obtain a Mint State early-date Eric P. Newman pedigreed Liberty Seated half dollar.
Honestly, this is are really nice coin, having great toning, original surfaces, with no significant no issues, a GREAT original look - 100% original.  The Colonel Green and the Eric Newman pedigrees makes this coin really desirable.  I love this coin!
