    Description

    Handmade man's 100% wool in a dark plaid of brown, navy, red, and cream. It is lined with 100% cotton batting for warmth, and is lined with cozy dark brown100% cotton flannel. The cap is decorated with a large  antique glass button. The button is black with a swirl pattern edged with silver.  Attached to the button is large ruby colored rayon "silk-look" tassel. This is a new, unused cap, from Turtle Run Mercantile.
    During Victorian and Edwardian times, after dinner, gentlemen left the ladies and gathered to smoke their cigars and share a drink. In order to spare the ladies the smell of smoke gentlemen would frequently don their "smoking jacket and smoking cap" which could be removed, along with the smoke smell.
    Civil War re-enactors enjoy wearing the warm caps on a cool evening around the campfire. Steam punk, Edwardian, cigar club members, or any distinguished gentleman, will enjoy the cap. Smoking /lounging caps are a great accessory, suitable for many eras and uses. Smoking is not required!
