    Description

Handmade man's copper brown and cream herringbone weave 100% wool smoking cap or lounging cap. The round cap is 22" in circumference and 4" tall. It has a lining of soft cream colored 100% cotton flannel for warmth. The cap is decorated with three rows of tan-brown silk-look rayon braid. The top is decorated with a hand made brown 100% cotton tassel held in place with a unique button with a central design of antiqued gold metal design, reminiscent of a rune, surrounded with a golden brown frame. This is a new, unused cap, from Turtle Run Mercantile.
During Victorian and Edwardian times, after dinner, gentlemen left the ladies and gathered to smoke their cigars and share a drink. In order to spare the ladies the smell of smoke gentlemen would frequently don their "smoking jacket and smoking cap" which could be removed, along with the smoke smell.
Civil War re-enactors enjoy wearing the warm caps on a cool evening around the campfire. Steam punk, Edwardian, cigar club members, or any distinguished gentleman, will enjoy the cap. Smoking /lounging caps are a great accessory, suitable for many eras and uses. Smoking is not required!
    Dry clean only.
